This is not meant to be controversial; just a simple acknowledgment of reality. The world that God created, in the beginning, was very good.
This means that there was no death, there was no suffering, and that life would fill the whole world. What we call predators, existed, but they were not predators back then. They were herbivores. Diseases did not exist. Wars did not happen. Injustice was not even a word in the vocabulary of the first humans.
This derails the whole notion that God cannot be good if He is all powerful; or that he cannot be all powerful if He is good. God is good, all of the time. God is all powerful, without fail. But what we are told in 2 Peter 3:9 is that, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
God created a world that was good, but mankind rebelled and brought death, sin, and suffering into God's good creation. Since then, the human condition has been tainted by wickedness. People have been groping in the dark for a solution to our sin-cursed condition.
God has given us a cure for our brokenness: Jesus Christ, His only Son. He took upon the penalty that we deserve for our misdeeds and reconciled us to God. No one has authority to forgive the wickedness of people except for Jesus.
Only through Jesus can we be restored to God, as new creations, and set apart as heirs to God's eternal kingdom. Do you believe this?
